Great opportunities can’t find you if you’re invisible.
If you’re an introvert, the thought of being visible may scare you. So let’s first talk about what it means, really.
First the good news!
You don’t need to make talking-head videos on YouTube.
They won’t hurt you, but when I’m talking about being visible, it doesn’t go that far.
What I mean is:
Yes, that’s it.
It’s best.
But if you’re really shy, use something else. Some people use a picture of their cat or dog. It’s not ideal because it feels weird to have a conversation with a poodle with dirty eyes, but it’s better than nothing.
I’m not that shy, so I use a picture of me on social media, Skool, etc.
It’s actually a picture from 2011.
I chose that because it shows me happy and it has a clean background.

But when I’m my gamer personality, I have a picture of my blood elf mage.

That’s the only way you need to show your face.
“I bump into you everywhere.”
That’s what a person told me in a Skool group. And yes, it might seem so when you’re visible.
You write comments in several Skool groups, and people recognize you from your name and/or avatar.
You write comments or posts on Substack, and once again, you’re visible.
After a while, people will notice.
And as long as you’re saying at least semi-wise things, that’s a good thing.
With my gamer character, I’m in several Discord groups about making gold in World of Warcraft.
These groups are run by gamers who make millions of gold in WoW.
Yet, this person chose to DM me and ask me personally, how I did it.
Why?
Because I was visible.
I asked and replied to questions from other members. I was active. I shared my knowledge when I had something to share.
That led to enough trust so that a stranger contacted me personally to ask for guidance.
Even though those groups are run by people with much more experience than me.
I was visible – AND more approachable than the gurus. Fewer steps away from the person who asked.
THAT’s a huge opportunity in many cases.
The DM I got this morning – I wrote a person reply, and that gives me enough stuff to make a video to put on YouTub.
Because when one person asks, more sit with the same question but don’t dare to ask.
Such questions can also lead to books or courses.
Or “just” goodwill.
If you’re not visible, you lose out on all that and it’s very hard to sell anything when people don’t know, like and trust you.
So trust me. Be visible.
